The question above is actually two questions: Why should all Americans ShopUSAFirst? And why did we develop ShopUSAFirst.com?
To answer the first question we need only to compare today's economic data to where we were in 1970. In 2005, the USA imported goods valued at 781 billion more dollars than what we exported. If you compare this to 1970, the USA actually exported goods valued at 2.6 Billion more than we imported. This difference has translated into hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jobs lost for US workers. It also means that tax revenue from these workers, which could be used for schools, hospitals, roads and first responders, has gone out of our country to countries that have no concept of a strong middle-class and who consistently exploit their own citizens in order to drive the cost per unit down.
Every American reading this knows someone who has been downsized, laid-off, had their pay reduced or is now working two or more jobs to maintain the lifestyle that they used to have. Or they may know some high school graduate who can't find an entry-level job and start working his way up the ladder of success because all those jobs have gone out of the country. This is the result of not just losing jobs overseas, but also manufacturers constantly having to lower their prices and cut overhead to the bone in order to remain competitive with oversea manufacturers who quite often spend their development dollars reverse engineering American designed products.
Just bought around $200 from Rain Birds and looked to see that at least most if not all of the parts were made in the USA. They do have 2 facilities in Mexico and the Europe but they have many USA employees. Thank you Rain Bird!!
